Vermont Legalizes Medical Marijuana Dispensaries

Since medical marijuana has become legal under Vermont state laws, patients and caretakers were forced to cultivate their own marijuana. Health and financial conditions just doesn’t allow for such a thing to be possible for most people who partake in the medical marijuana program. Since the state has one of the smallest registries of patients, the new law allows for four dispensaries to open in the state. Vermont has now become the eighth state to legalize dispensaries and this is just another victory in the long road the United States needs to consider taking. Dispensaries in Vermont will be allowed 28 mature plants, 98 immature plants and up to 28 ounces of usable medicine. However these limits go up for dispensaries with more than 14 patients, allowing 2 mature plants, 7 immature plants and two ounces per patient. This really is a step in the right direction for Vermont and hopefully they will set an example for other states in the North East.
