Is it possible New Jersey is delaying their MMJ bill?

Supporters of New Jersey’s Medical Marijuana Bill are considering the possibility that Governer Christie is stalling the start of the program. According to the Asbury Park Press, Governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie is stalling on signing in the states medical marijuana bill stating that he wants to be assured Federal prosecutors will not press charges against the medical marijuana industry operating under state law. It is reported that the offices of the Governor have sent letters out to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman but have yet to hear back.

It is believed that the Governor is holding things back personally as it has been reported he would not have signed the bill when it came around, but the previous Governor, Jon Corzine, had signed the bill. Currently there are over a dozen states practicing these laws and federal prosecution in the recent years has been at a minimum.
