Delaware 16th State to Legalize Medical Marijuana

Governor of Delaware, Jack Markell has signed Senate Bill 17 which has legalized the use of medical marijuana in the state of Delaware effective July 1st, 2011.  The bill calls for medical marijuana to be distributed by State licensed ‘compassion centers’ and will not allow patients to grow their own cannabis.

Patients with cancer, HIV/AIDS, multiple sclerosis, cirrhosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), agitation of Alzheimer’s disease, PTSD, intractable nausea, severe seizures, severe and persistent muscle spasms, wasting syndrome and severe/chronic pain will be allowed to be prescribed medical marijuana by their physicians.
